The tragic event occurred during the Silesia Rally. One of the crews fell off the course and hit a fence. The pilot died on the spot.
The incident occurred around 11:00 on the special stage “Chybie” in the district of Cieszyn. According to rally organizers, crew number 40 fell off the course and hit a fence. A female pilot was killed in a tragic accident.
“Another crew initiated the accident procedure after only a minute. Two emergency teams immediately arrived at the scene. The driver, in shock, was taken to hospital for examination. Unfortunately, the pilot could not be saved,” we read in the organisers’ announcement.
After the tragic event, the rally organizers decided to end the competition immediately.
“The organizing committee of Rally Silesia extends its sincere condolences to the relatives of the deceased pilot. In this situation, the sports competition will not be continued and the crews, fans and people involved in the organisation of the rally will gather in front of the Silesian Stadium to commemorate the pilot with a minute of silence,’ reads the announcement.
