Apples are one of the most popular fruits in the world. September 28th is World Apple Day. On this occasion, it is worth reminding that Poland is the largest producer of these fruits in Europe, and their high quality is appreciated by consumers around the world.
Poland is the largest producer of apples in the European Union. As Statistics Poland (GUS) estimates, about 3.4 million tons of these fruits were harvested in Poland last year. Polish apples are appreciated all over the world also because of their unique taste.
What’s their secret? Many seemingly insignificant factors influence the result of apple cultivation, i.e., the taste, appearance, and structure of the fruit. According to our native fruit growers, the climate is the key to success.
The consumers need to broaden their knowledge about the Polish apples whose highest quality, taste, and irreplaceable nutritional values make our producers belong to the absolute world leaders. For years nutritionists have been convincing people to eat domestic fruit every day because of its exceptional nutritional value. World Apple Day is a great occasion to celebrate because Polish apples are a real treasure.
Polish apples have received promotional support as part of the “CuTE: Cultivating the Taste of Europe” campaign run from 2019 to 2021 by FruitVegetablesEUROPE (EUCOFEL), the European Fruit and Vegetable Trade Association. It aims to motivate Europeans to change their consumption habits and lead healthier lifestyles. Polish apples are one of the main products promoted in the campaign.
