“Let us try not to talk about politics these days,” appeals Prime Minister Donald Tusk in a video containing Easter wishes, posted on the social media platform X. The post was immediately met with a flurry of comments. “Better for Poles not to talk about politics. Ha ha, I wonder why…” replied one internet user to the head of government.
In the published video, the politician stated that Easter is “a time of hope, kindness, love, and faith.” He also made a request: “Let us try not to talk about politics these days.”
“You know, around the family table, it doesn’t matter who is right—what matters are relationships. Let us take the children, and the grandchildren, go to church with our baskets and the Easter blessing. On Sunday, let us sit at the table—let us not overdo it with the food,”
he added.
Tusk also appealed: “And let us think about how to make everyday life just as good, just as pleasant, as it is around the Easter table. Because it really is possible. It’s gonna be alright!”

The Costly Easter
According to data from the Centre for Socio-Economic Analysis, this year the Easter basket will cost over 7% more than it did last year—its value now amounts to 65 PLN. The highest price increases concern chocolate, salt, and butter. According to PiS politicians, this year’s Easter will be the most expensive in history.
