The Bright Concert is a yearly charity concert organized by Polonia Theatre to commemorate Polish Depression Day. This year’s theme is “Depression and Grief”, as the organizers are dedicating it to a psychiatrist Dariusz Wasilewski, the initiator, and host of the previous concerts, who sadly died last year.
Dariusz Wasilewski was a master in two fields – music and psychology. He was a musician, lyricist, and the leader of the rock group Futurobnia. He was also a renowned psychiatrist, whose mission was to raise awareness about depression and its impact on society. In 2003, he founded the Actively Against Depression Association (AADA).
All the artists performing on The Bright Concert have known Dariusz Wasilewski personally, often have worked or even performed with him. Therefore, the event will feel extra special.
The 2022 edition of the concert is titled “And When It Comes After Me…”. It will take place on February 21st, two days before the actual Polish Depression Day. The event will start at 8 P.M. in the building of the Polonia Theatre. All the profit from the concert will be handed to the AADA to continue their mission of educating about depression and helping those in need.
