    Moody's upholds Poland's A2 credit rating

Global ratings agency Moody’s has affirmed Poland’s long-term credit rating at the A2 level, an upper-medium grade, with a stable outlook.

In a Friday statement, Moody’s acknowledged Poland’s efforts to increase its energy security and bolster Nato guarantees, the resilience of the country’s economy and its strong institutional framework as well as a beneficial structure of debt and its relatively low cost that makes it possible for Poland to service higher debt and mitigate fiscal challenges resulting from the war in Ukraine.

However, the eroding rule-of-law situation in Poland is a reason for concern, Moody’s warned.

Of the three major global ratings agencies, both Fitch and S&P have given Poland an A- rating, whereas Moody’s A2 is the highest among them.
