Andrzej Poczobut was awarded the Main Award for Freedom of Speech by the Polish Journalists Association. The journalist and activist of the Union of Poles in Belarus received the award for professionalism and courage to work in conditions of extreme danger.

14th June marks the 81st anniversary of the first deportation of Poles to the Auschwitz German camp. On June 14, 1940, the Germans brought 728 men from the prison in Tarnów. Poles became the first prisoners of Auschwitz because it was for them that the Germans created the camp. The last prisoner - Kazimierz Albin - passed away in July 2019.

The Minister of Family and Social Policy Marlena Maląg handed over a symbolic cheque for PLN 600,000 to the authorities of the Brzeziny Municipality, which was earmarked for the creation of the Day Care Centre and the Senior Citizens' Club. “It is a form of thanks for what you have done for all of us with your life, experience and raising the next generation” – she said.

Economic cooperation, bilateral political relations, Serbia's European integration and regional cooperation were the leading topics of today's talks between the Heads of Polish and Serbian Diplomacy. A working visit of Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic Eduard Heger to Poland, who has met with Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, was scheduled for today - June 10. Prime Minister Heger is holding an official bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Morawiecki for the first time after he was appointed the head of government on April 1, 2021.

The positions of the countries on the Fit 55 package and the implementation of the EU biodiversity strategy were the main topics of the meeting of ministers responsible for environment and climate issues of the Visegrad Group countries (V4) as well as Bulgaria and Romania. The meeting, attended by Minister Michał Kurtyka and Deputy Minister Adam Guibourgé-Czetwertyński, was organised as part of the Polish Presidency of the V4, which runs until 30 June this year.

On June 8, a videoconference of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Berlin Process countries took place. This was the first political meeting under the German Presidency of this format.

“I am convinced that this project, in its basic framework, will be implemented within the expected time” - this is what Deputy Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Marcin Przydacz said about the construction of Baltic Pipe. He was positive about the possibility of the EC getting involved in finding a solution after Denmark's decision on the pipeline.
