The citizens of Warsaw until 15th September to vote on projects chosen by them which will be financed by the city. One of these covers sexual education classes for children. The project, which is to cost 3 million zloty, brought protests from conservative communities in Poland which see it as a violation of children’s innocence and forcing them to adopt liberal views on gender. Meanwhile, the centre and leftist groups stress that it is important to educate children on sex, sex protection, and the processes their bodies will be going through as they grow up.

The prime ministers of Poland, Hungary, Czechia, and Slovakia met today in the Polish city of Lublin to discuss the current situation in Belarus, the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, and the upcoming special summit of the European Council. Since the beginning of July, Poland has been leading the work of the Visegrad Group.

The unofficial leader of the Belarusian opposition, Svietlana Tsikanuskaya has visited Poland. During her visit Tsikanuskaya met Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, and the leader of the ‘Solidarity’ trade union, Piotr Duda. She also gave a lecture at the University of Warsaw on the current state of affairs in Belarus.

Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, the informal leader of the Belarusian opposition, is expected to arrive in Warsaw tomorrow. Tsikhanouskaya will meet the Polish prime minister Mateusz Morawiecki and receive a special award during the Economic Forum in Karpacz. In the meantime, independent Belarusian media report that the regime’s security services are attempting to force the leading members of opposition out of the country. Such an attempt was made against Maria Kolesnikova, who was kidnapped by masked assailants on Monday. According to unofficial sources, she is currently being held at a military facility in the Gomel region.

The Three Sea's Stock Exchanges Conference was held in Krakow today. The Three Seas countries, although jointly constitute 1/3 of the population of the European Union, have only a 10 percent share in the Community's capital market. President Andrzej Duda was a guest at the Krakow conference and spoke about the ideas for the elimination of these disparities.

All of Poland is reading “Balladyna” today - a novel by Juliusz Słowacki, one of the great romantic poets of Polish literature. It is yet another edition of the so-called “National reading”. Similarly to previous years, the presidential couple joined the event.

The Warsaw court ruled that Piotr Nisztor, an investigative journalist writing for “Gazeta Polska”, is banned from publishing anything for a year concerning the president of the Polish Football Association Zbigniew Boniek and his business relations with Andrzej Placzyński, the head of Sportfive company dealing with television rights for the broadcast of football matches.

Poczta Polska - Polish Post commemorated the 40th anniversary of establishing the trade union "Solidarity" with a stamp that was officially introduced into circulation during the celebration of the 40th anniversary of signing the August Agreements, the company informed. The stamp was issued in the amount of 1 million pieces.

81 years ago today, the Second World War began with the attack by Nazi Germany on Poland. The images of artillery shells fired from the German battleship Schleswig-Holstein at the Polish Military Depot at Westerplatte are embedded in the national memory. This part of Poland was defended with extraordinary heroism for 7 days by a handful of soldiers. Today, in the early morning, exactly 81 years later to the minute, the anniversary commemorations organized by the Polish Army, with the participation of President Andrzej Duda, took place at Westerplatte.

On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of Solidarity, 40 spectacular places and venues around the world are illuminated with the Solidarity logo or with white and red colors, the deputy head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk announced on Monday. The venture started last weekend.

The state budget for 2021 has been published. The deficit this year will amount to 82 billion zloty. The head of the ministry of finance, Tadeusz Kościński stressed that there are secured funds in the project for the new budget, for example through the continuation of the most important social benefit programs, as well as investments for the development of the economy, which has suffered greatly due to the coronavirus pandemic.

After a meeting with representatives of parliamentary clubs on the situation in Belarus, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki stated that Poland wants to be an ambassador of a free Belarus. The meeting was attended by representatives of all political clubs of the Polish Sejm.

Polish prime minister Mateusz Morawiecki has announced tonight the names of new ministers to fill vacancies caused by recent resignations. Dr. Adam Niedzielski, the current head of the National Health Fund, will be the new health minister, and prof. Zbigniew Rau, the current head of the Sejm's foreign affairs committee, will be the new foreign minister.
