During her visit Tsikanuskaya met Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, and the leader of the ‘Solidarity’ trade union, Piotr Duda. She also gave a lecture at the University of Warsaw on the current state of affairs in Belarus.

    Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya to visit Warsaw tomorrow, protests in Belarus continue

    Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, the informal leader of the Belarusian opposition, is expected to arrive in Warsaw tomorrow. In the meantime, independent Belarusian media report that the regime’s security services are attempting to force the leading members of opposition out of the country. Such an attempt was made against Maria Kolesnikova, who was kidnapped by masked assailants on Monday. According to unofficial sources, she is currently being held at a military facility in the Gomel region.

    81 years ago Poland was invaded by Germany

    81 years ago today, the Second World War began with the attack by Nazi Germany on Poland. The images of artillery shells fired from the German battleship Schleswig-Holstein at the Polish Military Depot at Westerplatte are embedded in the national memory.     Prime Minister visits the Forum for Development

Further demonstrations against President Lukashenko's regime are expected to be held tonight in Minsk and other Belarusian cities.
