Iran launched a ballistic missile toward Turkey, posing the first direct threat to the territory of a NATO member state in this war. Fortunately, the missile was neutralized by the Alliance’s defense systems, and NATO Headquarters in Brussels has not concealed its outrage, announcing a firm defense of its allies against Tehran’s aggression.
Dramatic reports arrived from Ankara. The Turkish Ministry of National Defense officially confirmed that a hostile Iranian ballistic missile was heading toward the country’s airspace. The situation required an immediate response to prevent a potential tragedy and destruction on the territory of a member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.
Fortunately, NATO’s integrated air and missile defense system proved its effectiveness. The deadly projectile was tracked and destroyed before it could violate Turkish skies. The successful interception took place over the eastern part of the Mediterranean Sea.
The Alliance Will Not Bow to the Regime
NATO’s command reacted immediately and unequivocally. The Alliance’s spokesperson, Allison Hart, strongly condemned the aggressive actions of the ayatollahs’ regime.
