Just before 2:00 p.m. today, thick black smoke was visible at a construction site for a viaduct near Sądowa and Maria Goeppert-Mayer Streets in Katowice, close to the PKP railway station.
“Today at 1:45 p.m., we were dispatched to a fire involving railroad ties on Raciborska Street. Nine units responded to the scene, including: JRG-1 Katowice-Szopienice, JRG-3 Katowice-Centrum, JRG Dąbrowa Górnicza, OSP Kostuchna, OSP Dąbrówka Mała, and the Katowice City Operational Officer,” detailed the Katowice Fire and Rescue Unit No. 1.
