An intoxicated head of an investigative division at one of the Szczecin police stations got involved in an altercation at a New Year’s Eve party – reports the portal wszczecinie.pl. He has been suspended from duty.
In recent days, there has been widespread coverage of the rape of a young policewoman by a high-ranking officer – the crime took place in Piaseczno, and the officer was remanded in custody for three months. As it turns out, this was not the end. Another incident involving a police officer reportedly occurred on New Year’s Eve in Szczecin.
The portal wszczecinie.pl reported a scandalous situation allegedly involving the head of an investigative division at one of the Szczecin police stations. According to the portal’s account, the man was shouting that he was a police officer, insulting a woman and harassing people. There was also a scuffle with other partygoers.
“The man behaved aggressively, harassed party participants, and manhandled the woman he attended the event with. The altercation ended in a brawl, and the intoxicated head of the division was taken away by an ambulance because his facial injuries required stitches. He was reportedly found to have more than 2 per mille of alcohol in his blood,” reports the Szczecin-based service.
The Police confirmed to the local portal that criminal proceedings are underway and that explanatory actions have also been initiated regarding the conduct of the officer, who was off duty at the time of the incident. The officer has been suspended from duty.
“Mr. Kierwiński, do you still believe that everything is going well in the Polish police?” asks MP Dariusz Matecki of the Law and Justice (PiS).
