Archbishop Edward Ozorowski, the former metropolitan of Białystok, passed away at the age of 83. Early Life and Ecclesiastical Journey
Born in 1941 in Wólka-Przedmieście, Ozorowski was ordained in 1964 and became a bishop in 1979. He served as an auxiliary bishop during the time when Białystok was part of the Vilnius Archdiocese Apostolic Administration. Following the establishment of the Białystok Diocese in 1991, he became its metropolitan in 2006, succeeding three prominent archbishops.
A distinguished theologian, Ozorowski authored over a thousand publications and was a professor of theology. He also served as rector of the Higher Archdiocesan Seminary in Białystok.
