Marcin Kierwiński has once again attacked TV Republika. According to him, the station “continues to attack Polish officers” and represents “an unprecedented level of anti-state aggression”. The politician was sharply rebuked by the station’s CEO, Tomasz Sakiewicz. “This is exactly the language of Urban from the martial law era. When the authorities ordered attacks on the opposition, they later hid behind uniforms and the rule of law,” he emphasized.
False reports. Two men detained
In recent weeks, TV Republika and opposition politicians have fallen victim to at least a dozen incidents involving false emergency reports. Yesterday, the Warsaw-Praga District Prosecutor’s Office, together with the police, held a press conference dedicated to the case. During the meeting, they also announced the first arrests related to the ongoing investigation.
As reported by the prosecutor’s office, two men were detained and charged with participation in and leadership of an organized criminal group, as well as making false reports. By court decision, both were placed in pre-trial detention for three months.
Karolina Staros, spokesperson for the Warsaw-Praga District Prosecutor’s Office, stated that investigators are analyzing reports from May 2026. The proceedings also include the case of an intervention at an apartment belonging to President Karol Nawrocki. At this stage of the investigation, no charges have yet been filed in that part of the case.
The prosecutor’s office did not disclose which specific incident the charges against one of the suspects relate to in connection with the attacks on the television station. The detainees face up to 15 years in prison. It has been established that one of the suspects had previously been temporarily detained for similar offenses but was released due to a lack of grounds for continued detention.
Kierwiński attacks TV Republika
TV Republika extensively reports on the actions of the prosecutor’s office and services subordinate to Donald Tusk’s government in this matter. Marcin Kierwiński, Minister of the Interior and Administration, once again attacked the station today.
“The police are working to identify those responsible for the false alarms. Two people are already in custody, more are being detained. What are the PiS propaganda outlet and PiS operatives doing? They continue to attack Polish officers. An unprecedented level of anti-state aggression. Contrary to the facts, just to spread disinformation,” he wrote.
Tomasz Sakiewicz, CEO of TV Republika, responded to the politician. The head of the station stressed that the language used by Kierwiński is exactly the same as that used by Jerzy Urban during martial law.
“When the authorities ordered attacks on the opposition, they later hid behind uniforms and the rule of law. And the fact that those persecuted demanded their rights was labeled as anti-state activity,” Sakiewicz pointed out.
