Bodnar Suspends Prosecutor Ostrowski: Constitutional Tribunal President Calls It a ‘Confirmation of a Coup’

The President of Poland’s Constitutional Tribunal, Bogdan Święczkowski, has strongly condemned the suspension of Deputy Prosecutor General Michał Ostrowski by Prosecutor General Adam Bodnar, calling it an unlawful act and a sign of an ongoing coup d’état in the country.

“With disbelief and outrage, I have received the information about the baseless suspension of Prosecutor Michał Ostrowski by the accused Adam Bodnar. Ostrowski has been leading the investigation into my report regarding the commission of crimes. This suspension effectively prevents him from carrying out his duties in this case,” Święczkowski stated in an official declaration.

Investigation Into High-Ranking Officials

Święczkowski emphasized that the ongoing investigation concerns the highest-ranking individuals in Poland’s government, including Prosecutor General and Minister of Justice Adam Bodnar.

The allegations involve the formation of an organized group accused of “using force to change the constitutional order of the Republic of Poland and exerting unlawful threats and violence to influence the official activities of constitutional state organs.”

Święczkowski: ‘A Confirmation of a Coup’

According to the Constitutional Tribunal President, the suspension of Ostrowski is illegal and serves as confirmation of a systemic coup in Poland.

“The suspension of Deputy Prosecutor General Michał Ostrowski is unlawful and constitutes proof that actions of a constitutional coup are being carried out in the Republic of Poland,” Święczkowski stated.

He further claimed that the alleged coup extends to various key institutions, including the Constitutional Tribunal, the Supreme Court, common courts, the National Council of the Judiciary, the public prosecution service, public media, and the National Electoral Commission, as well as the decisions made by these institutions.

Public Disclosure of Evidence

Święczkowski made public his official complaint regarding the suspected crimes, along with the prosecution’s confirmation of an investigation into the reported case. The political and legal crisis continues to escalate as the conflict between state institutions deepens.
