Breakthrough in the Case of Polish Man’s Murder in Sweden: Murder Weapon Found

Swedish prosecutors announced on Wednesday that the weapon used in the April murder of a 39-year-old Polish man in Stockholm has been found. The case, which shocked the nation, involved the fatal shooting of Mikael (Michał) in front of his teenage son in the Skärholmen district. The indictment against the suspected killer, an 18-year-old named Mohammed M., is expected to be ready by November, with a trial possibly commencing by the end of the year.

Mikael was killed after confronting a group of teenagers under a viaduct. It was revealed that the alleged shooter, Mohammed M., was armed with a modified starting pistol, a weapon now recovered by police. Mohammed M. is reportedly linked to a local gang, but Mikael had no ties to criminal activity. According to his family, he was known for intervening when he witnessed illegal activities such as drug dealing.

So far, five individuals have been detained in connection with the case. Mohammed M. remains in custody, while two underage suspects, accused of aiding in hiding the murderer, have been sent to juvenile detention centers.

The discovery of the murder weapon has reinvigorated the investigation, with prosecutors expressing confidence in the strength of the evidence gathered.
