Cloudy Skies and Warmth Forecasted for New Year’s Eve in Poland

As the countdown to 2024 approaches, the weather forecast for New Year’s Eve in Poland isn’t exactly promising. According to the latest information from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMGW), the anticipation of celebrations might face some hurdles due to cloudy skies and rain, coupled with surprisingly high temperatures.

Following the Christmas holiday, Poland experienced a slight cooling trend. Yet, recent IMGW forecasts suggest that it will remain relatively warm for this time of year. Shockingly, temperatures might even exceed 10 degrees Celsius in some regions during the daytime on New Year’s Eve.

For the resilient souls bracing for the start of 2024, the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) EPS model indicates that the first week of the new year across Poland will be warmer than usual.

The analysis of ECMWF models reveals that the last days of 2023 will remain relatively warm. On December 31st, temperatures across the nation are expected to stay above freezing.

As per IMGW’s predictions, Sunday’s daytime temperatures will range from 4 degrees Celsius in the northeast, around 8 degrees Celsius in the central regions, to possibly 11 degrees Celsius locally in the southwest. The New Year’s Eve weather will be unpleasant, marked by heavy cloud cover and localized rain or sleet.
