    Consumer Inflation in Poland Hits 2% in March 2024

    Consumer inflation in Poland reached 2% on a yearly basis in March 2024, according to the Central Statistical Office (GUS). Prices of goods and services rose by 0.2% compared to the previous month.

    Inflation Trends by Sector

    In March 2024, clothing and footwear prices surged by 3.3%, while restaurant and hotel costs increased by 0.7%. Communication services also saw a hike of 0.9%, contributing to the overall inflation rate. Compared to the same month last year, the prices of restaurant and hotel services soared by 8.6%, housing by 1.5%, and alcoholic beverages and tobacco products by 5.2%.

    Lower prices in transportation (down by 2.9%) and food (down by 0.3%) partially offset the inflationary pressure.
