A 29-year-old Czech citizen was arrested after a shocking incident at a gas station in Chałupki, Poland, where he threatened to set the station ablaze. The suspect, who was found to have drugs, was subdued by both police officers and a station employee. He is now in custody, as investigators work to uncover the full details of the event.
The chaotic scene unfolded around 9 PM last night when local police received a call about a man causing a disturbance at the gas station. The man, reportedly under the influence of drugs, was behaving aggressively and threatened to set the entire station on fire.
When officers from Krzyżanowice arrived, the suspect’s erratic behavior escalated. In a terrifying turn, the man grabbed a fuel nozzle and doused the responding officers with gasoline. As they attempted to subdue him, the suspect ignited a lighter, sparking a dangerous confrontation.
Despite their injuries, the officers, aided by a quick-thinking gas station employee, managed to overpower the man. Both officers sustained injuries during the struggle, with one suffering burns to his neck and another experiencing fuel inhalation. Both were hospitalized, but their lives are not in danger.
The attacker, who was found in possession of methamphetamine, was sober at the time of the incident. He remains in police custody, while investigators determine the legal classification of his actions. His fate will ultimately be decided by the court.
