Could Poland leave the European Union after the 2027 elections? The latest SW Research survey shows that the majority of respondents (45.9%) do not foresee such a scenario.
Since President Karol Nawrocki announced that he would veto the law implementing the EU loan under the SAFE program – a discussion about Polexit – Poland’s exit from the European Union – has erupted in the country. This narrative was fueled by the government environment, led by Donald Tusk, with the help of pro-government media. According to the repeated message, the advocate for taking Poland out of the EU is said to be President Karol Nawrocki and the opposition.
Survey: Do Poles Believe in Polexit?
The topic of Polexit regularly appears in public opinion research. In the latest SW Research survey conducted on behalf of Onet, Poles were asked: “Do you think the scenario of Polexit, that is Poland leaving the European Union, is realistic after the 2027 elections?”
The survey shows that 45.9% of respondents do not believe in the scenario of Poland leaving the European Union after the next parliamentary elections. This is the largest group among those surveyed.
Significantly fewer, 29.9%, believe that Polexit after 2027 is possible.
Many Poles Have No Opinion
It is also worth noting the high percentage of undecided respondents. As many as 24.2% of those surveyed could not give a clear answer regarding Poland’s future in the European Union.
The SW Research survey for Onet was conducted on March 25, 2026, using online interviews (CAWI – Computer-Assisted Web Interview) within the SW Panel internet panel. A total of 811 interviews were carried out with a nationally representative sample of adults. Quota sampling was applied – the sample was representative in terms of overall gender, age, and size of the place of residence.
