Michał Rachoń recently shared a photograph with U.S. President Donald Trump, recalling their brief yet significant conversation during Trump’s 2017 visit to Warsaw. The journalist highlighted Trump’s statement about delivering his “most important geopolitical speech” in the Polish capital. The Warsaw Speech resonated deeply in Poland, marking a shift in its geopolitical landscape. As Rachoń noted, the U.S. presence in Poland increased with the deployment of American troops, the import of American gas, and the halting of Nord Stream 2. These moves were crucial for Poland’s energy independence and security, achieving goals that had remained elusive for decades.
Poland’s Geopolitical Challenges Ahead
Rachoń also expressed concerns about current Polish policies toward the U.S., accusing today’s leaders of provoking tensions with Washington. He warned that these actions could revive the old geopolitical nightmare: an alliance between Berlin and Moscow spanning from Lisbon to Vladivostok. According to Rachoń, maintaining strong transatlantic ties remains essential to safeguarding Poland’s strategic interests and regional stability.
