Football fans across Poland are turning up the pressure on Rafał Trzaskowski ahead of the upcoming presidential election. Supporters of clubs from all corners of the country have begun organizing at matches, unveiling a wave of banners. The message? Uniform and unflattering for the Civic Platform’s vice-chairman.
The Polish Cup final wasn’t just a celebration of football—it also became a platform for political protest. Legia Warsaw fans displayed a provocative banner reading: “May 18, June 1 – Don’t let deceitful, rainbow Rafał rule Poland with junkie Sławek,” referencing both Trzaskowski and another political figure.
This isn’t the first time Legia supporters have voiced their opposition to Trzaskowski. In the past, they’ve unfurled banners with slogans like “Anyone but Trzaskowski,” along with other harsh criticisms of the Civic Coalition’s presidential hopeful.
The movement appears to be gaining momentum, not just in media headlines but among fans themselves. With each matchweek, the number of politically charged messages continues to grow.
Cracovia fans have urged: “On May 18, anyone but Rafał.” At a recent Lech Poznań match, another banner proclaimed: “All of Poland sees through him – we’re not voting for Rafał!” Even supporters of Polonia Warsaw joined the fray, opting for a similarly aggressive tone.
