Poland is gearing up for an intense heatwave, with temperatures expected to soar up to 32 degrees Celsius in the coming days. The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMGW) has issued heat warnings, with second-degree alerts in place for several western and central regions. These areas will experience daytime highs between 30 and 32 degrees Celsius, with nighttime temperatures remaining uncomfortably warm.
In addition, first-degree warnings have been issued for regions such as Warmian-Masurian, Masovian, and Łódź, where similar high temperatures are expected. The warnings for these areas will be in effect until September 4th, while regions under the second-degree alert will remain on high alert until September 5th.
As the heatwave spreads, the risk of wildfires in Poland’s forests is increasing. Dry conditions coupled with soaring temperatures have created a heightened danger, leading authorities to advise extreme caution for those venturing into wooded areas.
