Helicopter Pilots Compete in Poland’s Largest Aviation Event in Płock

Poland’s top helicopter pilots recently gathered in Płock for the Helicopter Championships, the city’s largest aviation event of the year. This competition serves as both a demonstration of the pilots’ exceptional abilities and a crucial training opportunity ahead of the planned revival of the Płock Airshow, which was suspended after a series of tragic accidents.

    Reviving Płock’s Aviation Legacy

The event was backed by the Polish Air Navigation Services Agency (PAŻP) and the military, highlighting the importance of integrating various sectors within the aviation community. Magdalena Jaworska-Maćkowiak, President of PAŻP, emphasized the significance of bringing together pilots, controllers, and aircraft to strengthen the bonds within this community.

The Helicopter Championships also mark a potential turning point for Płock’s aviation enthusiasts, who have eagerly awaited the return of the Płock Airshow for five years. Collaborating with the Polish and Mazovian Aeroclubs, city officials aim to ensure a safe and successful event, with hopes of attracting international teams and pilots.
