    Emily O’Hara Ratajkowski was born on June 7, 1991, in London, England. Her mother, Kathleen Balgley, is an English professor and an author, and her father, John David Ratajkowski, is an artist. Emily’s parents only stayed in the UK for a brief period before moving to the United States; she was raised in San Diego, California.

    Emily’s Polish ancestry comes from her father’s side of the family. John Ratajkowski’s parents were both of Polish descent, and they immigrated to the United States in the early 20th century. 

    “I was in Kraków and Warsaw six years ago, wonderful cities. Mom speaks Polish, unfortunately, I don’t anymore, it’s a difficult language,”

    she said in an interview with Vogue. 

    Emily Ratajkowski is a proud American of Polish descent who has embraced her heritage and incorporated it into her personal and professional life. 

    She also came to prominence with her appearance in Robin Thicke’s ‘Blurred Lines’ music video.
