“There are ten million of us viewers. If ten million Poles stop buying that German sh*t, believe me, many German companies will go under, and that government will fall with them,” TV Republika President Tomasz Sakiewicz said during a broadcast on the station.
The incident in Berlin has already sparked widespread discussion across Poland. The management of TV Republika has announced a decision to remove all German companies from its advertising inventory. The matter was addressed on air by Tomasz Sakiewicz.
“We are talking about an event that took place two days after the anniversary of the first transport to Auschwitz, where Germans began the mass murder of Poles, and later of Jews. We are talking about police officers who were so provoked by the sight of a cross dedicated to the victims of German aggression that they decided to beat Poles,” he said.
“We will not advertise anything until those who were attacked receive an apology and until we hear a logical explanation for this assault,” he added, reiterating the station’s position.
In connection with the incident, Sakiewicz also called for a boycott.
“I also appeal for a boycott of German goods. There are ten million of us viewers. If ten million Poles stop buying that German sh*t, believe me, many German companies will collapse, and that government will fall as well. Their economy is already in poor condition. If we stop feeding it with our money, German entrepreneurs themselves will remove that government and punish it for what happened today,” he said during the broadcast.
