The helicopter fell right next to a kindergarten in the town of Brovary near Kyiv. Authorities report that children were in the building at the time of the crash. Initial reports spoke of several fatalities.
Now, 16 people are said to have been killed, including two children, and 22 injured. Interfax-Ukraine reports that the leadership of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry was killed in the helicopter crash in Brovary. This news is confirmed by the Ukrainian police: among others, Minister Denys Monastyrski was killed in the helicopter crash.

The head of the Ukrainian confirmed that it was a minister, his deputy and his secretary. “In the helicopter crash, the head of the Interior Ministry Denys Monastyrski, his first deputy Yevheniy Jenin and another deputy interior minister Yuriy Lyubkovych were killed,” – he reported. There were nine people on board the helicopter.

The search and rescue operation at the scene of a helicopter crash in Browary has been completed. The deaths of 14 people, including nine passengers on the machine, have been confirmed. The Prime Minister of Ukraine has announced that Commander of the National Police of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko has become the new Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and Acting Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. The previous head of the ministry, Denys Monastyrski, died in the helicopter crash.
