The Israeli security forces have successfully retrieved the body of Elad Katzir from the Gaza Strip. Katzir, a resident of Kibbutz Nir Oz, also held Polish citizenship. He was abducted on October 7th and brutally murdered by Jihadists. This information was relayed by the Israeli Ambassador to Warsaw, Jakow Liwne, and confirmed by the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Ambassador Liwne took to social media platform X to announce the recovery of Katzir’s body. He stated, “Last night, the Israeli security forces rescued Elad Katzir’s body from the Gaza Strip. Elad, from Kibbutz Nir Oz, was also a citizen of Poland. He was abducted on October 7th and murdered in captivity by the terrorist organization Islamic Jihad.”
Highlighting the grim situation, Liwne mentioned that Kibbutz Nir Oz had suffered dramatically during the October 7th, 2023 attack. He also reminded that another Polish citizen from Nir Oz, Alex Danzig, remains in captivity in Gaza.
Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs also confirmed the retrieval of Katzir’s body. According to their statement on platform X, Katzir’s body was recovered by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) in the town of Khan Yunis in the Gaza Strip. Katzir was abducted on October 7th last year along with his mother, Hanna Katzir, while his father, Rami, was murdered on the same day. Hanna Katzir was released in November last year. The Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also corroborated this information, as confirmed by spokesperson Paweł Wroński.
