    Journalist Janusz Weiss is dead

Janusz Weiss, a popular radio journalist and television presenter, has died. He was 74 years old. The news of his death was reported by Radio ZET, citing his son.

Janusz Weiss was born on 31 May 1948. He was one of the founders of the cabaret group Salon of Independents, remembered to this day for, among other things, the song ‘Telewizja’.

Janusz Weiss was one of the co-founders of Radio ZET. He hosted such programmes as “I’m calling you, Madame, in a very unusual case” (“Dzwonię do Pani, Pana w bardzo nietypowej sprawie”) and “All the questions in the world” (“Wszystkie pytania świata”).

Janusz Weiss became known to a wide audience as the host of the quiz show “Miliard w rozumie”.

In 2010. Janusz Weiss received an award in the ReformaTOR category in the MediaTory plebiscite organised by journalism students. He was awarded “for being able to do more on the phone than many journalists in person”. “In his broadcast, he exposes the incompetence of officials, settles important issues and mocks the absurdities of Polish reality,” – the justification emphasised.

In 2011. Janusz Weiss was awarded the Officer’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta.
