Jan-Krzysztof Duda, Radosław Wojtaszek, and Mateusz Bartel drew their games in the sixth round of the Grandmaster Tournament at the 60th Akiba Rubinstein Chess Festival in Polanica-Zdrój. Germany’s Vincent Keymer won his fifth game and widened his lead.

    Keymer’s Dominance

Keymer, ranked 23rd globally, defeated Ukrainian Andriy Volokitin, securing 5.5 points from six rounds. He leads Duda, ranked 18th, by two points. Duda remains unbeaten but has won only one game, recently drawing against India’s Pentala Harikrishna.

    Close Contest for Second Place

Wojtaszek, who is the only player to draw against Keymer so far, also drew against Czech David Navara. Bartel drew with Alexey Sarana from Serbia. Other notable results include Sam Shankland drawing with Vladimir Fedoseev, who now represents Slovenia.

With three rounds left, Keymer is close to victory. The tournament serves as a crucial warm-up for many players ahead of the Chess Olympiad in Budapest.
