Historic Ursus brand sold to Ukrainian company with space and defense focus, surprising market experts.
The iconic Polish brand Ursus, with over 120 years of tradition, has been sold to a Ukrainian company led by businessman Oleg Krot. The deal, finalized after two failed auctions, was completed for 74 million złoty, which represents just 60% of the brand’s estimated value. The buyer, M.I. Crow sp. z o.o., was established in July 2024 and specializes in space technology, aircraft, and military production.
Unexpected Buyer with Space Ambitions
M.I. Crow, headquartered in Warsaw, surprised many by acquiring Ursus. Despite being a new player, its focus on space-related industries adds an intriguing twist to the transaction. The company now owns two production plants in Dobre Miasto and Lublin, as well as several other properties. The acquisition also includes Ursus trademarks, research documentation, and machinery.
With this unexpected acquisition, it remains to be seen how the new owners will integrate Ursus’ heritage into their advanced technological ambitions.
