    Legendary Silesian Musician Rafal Rekosiewicz Passes Away at 75

    Rafal Rekosiewicz, the legendary Silesian musician, composer, and poet, has passed away at the age of 75. Friends of the artist shared the news on social media, expressing their sorrow at the loss of a man known for his diverse talents and vibrant personality. Renowned guitarist and composer Leszek Winder fondly recalled Rękosiewicz as a man of many abilities.

    “This morning, Rafal Rekosiewicz, the legendary Silesian musician and master of the Hammond organ, passed away. He collaborated with bands such as Krzak, Dżem, Cree, Martyna Jakubowicz, Leszek Winder, Jan Kyks Skrzek, and many, many others,” announced the Szlak Slaskiego Bluesa portal on their Facebook profile.

    Rafal Rekosiewicz, affectionately known as “Dziadek” (Grandfather) in the music community, was born in Katowice in 1947 and would have turned 76 in December.

    He gained fame as an outstanding keyboardist, working with prominent figures in the Polish music scene. Additionally, he was a poet, songwriter, translator of Bob Dylan’s works, and a music arranger and producer.

    Rafal Rekosiewicz passed away after a prolonged illness.
