A mushroom forager in the Biskupice municipality stumbled upon unexploded ordnances during a recent outing. The man immediately reported his alarming discovery to the local police, who secured the area until a bomb disposal unit arrived.
The incident occurred on Saturday, September 28th, when the Gdów Police Station received a call reporting the find. Officers arrived at the scene in the village of Jawczyce and confirmed the presence of six unexploded devices. Upon further inspection, the bomb squad uncovered more explosives in the area. In total, the team secured 15 mortar grenades, four artillery shells, and one hand grenade. The explosives were safely removed by the disposal unit.
Authorities are reminding the public of the dangers posed by unexploded ordnance. If found, such objects should not be touched or moved. Instead, people are urged to immediately contact emergency services, who will ensure the safe removal of the items.
