Nawrocki Vows to Restore Order at German Border — Sets a Clear Date

President-elect Karol Nawrocki declared on Thursday that Prime Minister Donald Tusk is to blame for recent “conflicts” between citizens and Border Guard officers. He also expressed gratitude to individuals who have organized self-initiated patrols along the Polish-German border, promising firm action on the matter.

Nawrocki Takes a Stand on Border Security

Speaking to reporters after a press conference, Nawrocki was asked to comment on the actions of nationalist activist Robert Bąkiewicz, who recently accused a Border Guard officer on X of allowing migrants into Poland under alleged orders from German authorities.

The president-elect thanked Bąkiewicz for what he described as a “human-focused stance at the border.”

“It’s deeply regrettable that for many months the Polish state has failed to manage the border crisis,” Nawrocki said. “Germany has been sending illegal migrants into Poland, and it was Polish citizens who took action in response — for that, I am grateful,” he added.

He asserted that Prime Minister Tusk is responsible for the tensions between Border Guard personnel and citizens, describing the situation as a case of “divide and conquer” politics.

Nawrocki emphasized that after his inauguration on August 6, Poland’s borders would be secure. “A president is coming — one who will ensure the safety of our borders,” he declared.
