In a significant recognition of unwavering dedication, President Andrzej Duda posthumously conferred the Order of the White Eagle upon Father Franciszek Blachnicki, the visionary founder of the Światło–Życie (Light-Life) Movement and the driving force behind the Human Liberation Crusade. The solemn ceremony took place at the Ecological Integral Center in Krościenko nad Dunajcem.

President Duda praised Father Blachnicki’s indomitable spirit in the face of communist adversity. He highlighted Blachnicki’s role in instilling internal freedom and enduring values beyond political constraints. Zofia Romaszewska’s pivotal role in advocating for this recognition was also acknowledged.

    Global Impact and Tragic Passing

Father Blachnicki’s legacy encompasses the global reach of the Światło–Życie Movement, the Institute of the Immaculate Mother of the Church, and initiatives such as the Crusade of Chastity. His sudden death in 1987, recently determined to be a result of poisoning, underscores his profound commitment to faith and his homeland.

This prestigious honor not only acknowledges Father Blachnicki’s exceptional contributions but also strengthens the continued flourishing of his inspired religious and socio-cultural pursuits.
