Public outrage continues over the behavior of IKS Solino CEO Wojciech Kotlarek toward Law and Justice (PiS) MEP Daniel Obajtek. However, a markedly different reaction came from Orlen—the parent company of the Inowrocław-based firm. The comment posted by the state-owned company’s official account appears to have fallen flat.
Disturbing scenes unfolded on Thursday at the premises of IKS Solino in Inowrocław, a company that is part of the Orlen Group. Former Orlen CEO and PiS MEP Daniel Obajtek arrived at the company’s headquarters to join protesting employees fighting for the future of the mine and the salt and soda production complex in the Kuyavia region. When the politician entered the building, the company’s CEO began physically grabbing and shoving him.
The entire incident was captured on camera. Public outrage over Wojciech Kotlarek’s conduct continues to spread online. The incident was also commented on via X by Przemysław Czarnek, Law and Justice’s candidate for prime minister, who was also present at the IKS Solino headquarters at the time.
“They will not be able to hide the truth about their anti-Polish actions and disgraceful conduct with force or violence,” he wrote.
His post drew a response from Orlen’s Press Office—the parent company overseeing IKS Solino. The reply posted by the person managing the company’s official account was astonishing.
“These gentlemen are behaving as if teeth were free,” the official account of Poland’s largest state-owned company wrote.
