Poland’s governing Law and Justice party (PiS) has introduced its campaign slogan, ‘A Safe Future for Poles.’ The announcement came from Jaroslaw Kaczynski, the deputy prime minister and leader of PiS, during a press conference held on Friday.
With Poland’s general election scheduled for October 15, the unveiling of this slogan marks the commencement of what is anticipated to be a fiercely contested electoral battle.
Kaczynski, a central figure in Polish politics, was joined at the press conference by key party members, including Mateusz Morawiecki, the Polish prime minister, Mariusz Blaszczak, the defence minister, Beata Szydlo, a former prime minister, and Elzbieta Witek, the speaker of the lower house of parliament.
During his speech, Kaczynski underscored the importance of security in the country’s present landscape, associating the slogan with the theme of safety. He identified military security as the foremost concern for Poland at this juncture, emphasizing the need for protection against potential armed threats.
“Security that protects us from armed attack,” Kaczynski affirmed, signalling that the focus of the PiS campaign will be on safeguarding the nation’s interests and citizens. The leader expressed confidence in the party’s dedication to this cause, stating, “We are doing everything – and we are doing it effectively – to keep improving this security.”
The ‘Safe Future for Poles’ slogan resonates with PiS’s reputation as a party that prioritizes conservative values, law and order, and national security. As the political landscape in Poland continues to evolve, the party’s commitment to these principles serves as a rallying cry for its supporters.
