In anticipation of the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris, PKP Intercity, Poland’s national railway operator, is gearing up to support the Polish Olympic Team with a special campaign. With just 100 days left until the games commence, two PKP Intercity trains will be adorned with thematic graphics, encouraging support for the athletes as they embark on this prestigious sporting event.
Collaboration with Polish Olympic Committee:
PKP Intercity, known for its social responsibility, has partnered with the Polish Olympic Committee to promote sports engagement among the Polish populace. Since August of the previous year, PKP Intercity has been a member of the Polish Olympic Family and a sponsor of the Polish Olympic Team.
During the presentation of the new Sponsor of the Polish Olympic Team and the Polish Cycling Federation, Marta Lach (Ceratizit–WNT Pro Cycling) also participated. At the recently concluded World Championships in Glasgow, Marta placed 21st in the road race. Alongside Katarzyna Niewiadoma and Agnieszka Skalniak-Sójka, Marta stands as one of the brightest female Polish talents in the cycling peloton and a great hope for success in world championships and, above all, the Olympic Games.
Design and Symbolism:
The chosen trains, EU160 Grffin and EU44 Husarz, feature minimalist designs showcasing three key sports: cycling, basketball, and relay running. Adorned in the national colors, the trains bear the slogan “SAY YES TO OLYMPIC EMOTIONS!” aiming to rally support for the Polish athletes.
The upcoming Paris 2024 Olympics hold special significance as they mark the centenary of Poland’s participation in the Olympic Games. The first foray into the Olympics for Poland was in Paris in 1924, where they clinched their inaugural Olympic medals.
As Poland’s largest railway operator, PKP Intercity not only facilitates long-distance travel but also champions Polish sports and culture. The company aims to provide passengers with a high standard of travel while actively supporting national sporting endeavors.
