Poland and Germany to increase border patrols amid surge in migrants

The interior ministers of Brandenburg and Saxony have appealed to German Interior Minister Nancy
Faeser to introduce temporary controls on the borders with Poland and the Czech Republic due to a
growth in illegal border crossings. Polish and German interior ministers met and concluded that there was no justification for such steps. However, patrols of both Polish and German border authorities will be reinforced and additional joint checks added on trains – said Polish and German ministers of interior Bartosz Godecki and Nancy Faeser.
