    Poland, France and Germany urged to help Ukraine join NATO

    The Presidents of Poland and France and the chancellor of Germany met in Paris to discuss defence issues before the NATO summit in Vilnius. The meeting under the Weimar format provides a platform for trilateral cooperation. According to press reports, Poland had sought a meeting in Kiev with Ukrainian president Zelenski but Germany, fearing too much influence from Poland, blocked that idea.
