Poland’s Message to Europe: Only Resolve Can Deliver Peace

In an interview with the German daily Bild, Polish President Karol Nawrocki left no room for doubt. He made it clear that the violation of Poland’s airspace by Russian drones was a direct act of aggression from Moscow. “This shows what Vladimir Putin is capable of,” he emphasised.

Poland and NATO Must Be Ready for Any Scenario

The President underlined that NATO must prepare for war because only deterrence guarantees peace. “We must do everything to be ready. Only then can we have peace,” he said, reminding the West, particularly Germany, that for years it chose to do business with Moscow, ignoring warnings from Central and Eastern Europe. The consequence of this short-sighted policy? Russia’s brutal aggression against Ukraine.

An End to Subsidising the Kremlin

Nawrocki voiced full support for U.S. President Donald Trump’s call for NATO countries to finally end the import of Russian oil. He pointed out the hypocrisy of states that proclaim solidarity with Ukraine while at the same time continuing to fuel Putin’s war machine. “All countries that want peace and freedom should stop subsidising the Russian Federation,” he declared.

Moreover, the Polish President stressed that only real pressure, sanctions combined with a firm U.S. policy, can force Moscow to back down. “Only Donald Trump, as President of the United States, can put the necessary pressure on Putin to end the war and preserve Ukraine’s territorial integrity,” he stated.

Europe Must Support Trump

Nawrocki’s remarks send a clear message to Berlin, Paris, and the rest of Western Europe: the time of half-measures and “business as usual” with Russia is over. Poland reminds the West that it was Germany’s reckless policy towards Putin that dragged Europe into today’s security crisis. Now the West faces a choice – stand firmly in defence of freedom, or sink further into compromises with the aggressor.

Reparations and Migration – Berlin’s Taboo Topics

The Polish President also touched on issues sensitive for Germany. He argued that the question of war reparations is far from “legally settled,” contrary to claims from the German government. He further stressed that Germany’s migration policy has been a disaster, a mistake Poland has consciously avoided.

President Karol Nawrocki’s interview is a strong voice from Poland on the international stage. He does not shy away from speaking the truth about Germany’s failures, Russia’s aggression, or the decisive role Trump could play. Amid war in Ukraine and growing chaos in Western Europe, it is Warsaw that increasingly stands out as the voice of reason and responsibility.
