Polenergia and Equinor sign advisory contract for Bałtyk 1, Poland’s largest offshore wind project, to supply energy to 2 million homes.
Polenergia and Equinor have signed a contract with Ramboll and Projmors to provide advisory services for the development of Bałtyk 1, Poland’s largest planned offshore wind farm. The project, with a capacity of up to 1560 MW, is slated to participate in the 2025 auction. Located 81 km off the Polish coast, Bałtyk 1 is part of the second phase of offshore wind development in Poland.
Boosting Green Energy for Millions of Homes
Bałtyk 1 is expected to double offshore energy capacity, providing clean energy to 2 million homes. The electricity will be transmitted to the Krzemienica substation, owned by PSE. This project, along with Bałtyk 2 and 3, will together supply over 4 million homes with green energy, solidifying the Baltic Sea’s role in Poland’s energy transition.
Environmental and Economic Impact
The project includes a 20 km underground transmission corridor to preserve the landscape and minimize land-use impact, showcasing the synergy of global expertise and local specialization.
