Police Change Narrative on Intervention at Sakiewicz’s Home. “A Detention Report Was Drawn Up”

Police have changed their narrative regarding the intervention at the apartment of Tomasz Sakiewicz. Initially, it was claimed that no one had been detained – now, a detention report is said to have been drawn up. “They attacked and abducted my assistant, abandoned her in the middle of the street. Then the police try to legalize it by drawing up a detention report, which was completely unjustified,” emphasized the CEO of TV Republika.

On May 15, 2026, a police intervention took place at the apartment of the CEO of TV Republika, Tomasz Sakiewicz. According to Sakiewicz’s account, officers forcibly entered the premises and detained his assistant, and he described the entire incident as a brutal intrusion. Police issued their own statement regarding what they described as a false alarm. “Police were notified that there was a person in the apartment at this address whose behavior posed a threat to their life,” the May 15 statement read.

“After carrying out the necessary checks, officers concluded the intervention. No one was detained,” police reported on the day the intervention took place.

Radio Wnet: Police Now Claim Detention… Did Occur

However, as Radio Wnet reported today, police have completely changed their narrative and now claim that a detention did in fact take place.

In response to questions from a journalist at the station, it was indicated that “officers used handcuffs on the woman due to the need to bring her to a police station in order to confirm her identity”.

“There was a temporary restriction of liberty due to the use of direct coercive measures in the form of handcuffs, which was confirmed by the appropriate documentation. Yes, a detention report was drawn up,” explained the spokesperson for the Warsaw Metropolitan Police Headquarters, Sub-Inspector Jacek Wiśniewski.

Sakiewicz: I Have No Access to the Recordings

Tomasz Sakiewicz emphasized on TV Republika that he still does not have access to recordings from the intervention, despite suggestions to the contrary by Deputy Interior Minister Czesław Mroczek. “My lawyers, referring to that statement, went to all prosecutor’s offices and the police, demanding those recordings on my behalf and on behalf of Ms. Ola. There has been no response – not even a refusal” Sakiewicz stressed.

“The legal situation is this – my apartment was attacked by unidentified individuals claiming to be police officers (…) They attacked and abducted my assistant, abandoned her in the middle of the street. Then the police try to legalize it by drawing up a detention report, which was completely unjustified,” Sakiewicz underlined.
