Polish Citizen Kidnapped in Chad Released Safely

A Polish citizen, previously kidnapped in Chad, has been released and is in good health, as confirmed by the Polish Foreign Minister, Radosław Sikorski. The minister announced the successful release of the woman, identified only as Aleksandra, stating that she is now safe and under medical care.

Sikorski delivered the news personally to the victim’s family over the phone and further shared in a recording made available on the platform X (formerly known as Twitter). Aleksandra’s freedom comes 1.5 hours before the announcement, marking the end of what must have been a harrowing ordeal for her and her loved ones. The details surrounding her abduction and the circumstances of her release remain unclear, including whether any demands of the kidnappers were met or what efforts were made by Polish and possibly international authorities to secure her freedom.
