Joachim Brudziński elected co-chair of the ECR group in the European Parliament, sharing the role with Nicola Procaccini.

Polish MEP Joachim Brudziński has been elected as the co-chair of the European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) group in the European Parliament. Representing the Law and Justice party (PiS), Brudziński’s election marks a significant leadership change for the group.

“Congratulations to Joachim Brudziński on being elected co-chair of the ECR group in the European Parliament. Law and Justice will continue its work within this group in the upcoming EP term,”

Piotr Müller, who will also become an MEP, announced on platform X.

    Dual Leadership with Nicola Procaccini

Brudziński will share the co-chair position with Italian MEP Nicola Procaccini from the Brothers of Italy party, led by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. This decision was made during the group’s retreat in Sicily. In the previous EP term, the co-chair was held by PiS MEP Ryszard Legutko.

    Kosma Złotowski Appointed Treasurer

Additionally, Piotr Müller reported that MEP Kosma Złotowski has been appointed as the group’s treasurer. The ECR group is currently the third-largest in the European Parliament, following the European People’s Party and the Socialists and Democrats.
