Poland’s U17 national team concluded their captivating adventure in the European Championships with a heartbreaking 3-5 (2-1) defeat against Germany in the semifinals. Despite holding a halftime lead, they were unable to maintain their advantage, ultimately finishing the tournament in third place.

The Polish team began the match on the offensive, unleashing three dangerous shots within the opening minutes, with Mikołajewski converting one to give them an early lead. Germany gradually found their footing and capitalized on a defensive mistake to equalize, but Poland responded quickly, retaking the lead through Borys. The score stood at 2-1 in favor of Poland at halftime.

In the second half, Poland started nervously and struggled to contain German attacks. Germany eventually scored twice to take the lead. Poland fought back with goals from Rejczyk and Wolski to level the score, but in the final minutes, Germany pulled ahead with two more goals, securing their spot in the final.

Despite the loss, Poland’s semifinal qualification guarantees them a place in the World Championships in November. Germany will face the winner of the Spain versus France match in the European Championships final scheduled for June 2nd.
