On September 3rd, during the 32nd International Defence Industry Exhibition (MSPO) in Kielce, Polska Grupa Górnicza (PGG) and Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa (PGZ) signed a letter of intent to launch a long-term collaboration. The agreement, signed by PGG CEO Leszek Pietraszek and PGZ board member Marcin Idzik, focuses on joint research, development, production, and trade initiatives to support the growth of Poland’s defence sector.
This partnership aims to create a comprehensive collaboration model, responding to the increasing demand in the defence industry and the evolving geopolitical landscape. It marks a significant step toward modernizing and diversifying the production capacities of both companies, which are crucial players in Poland’s economy.
PGG’s infrastructure, including its specialized Remanufacturing and Production Plant, will be a key asset in this venture. The company offers services such as hydraulic system modernization and conveyor production, which will support the technical upgrades of Poland’s defence sector. Pietraszek emphasized the historic nature of this partnership, noting PGG’s ability to contribute resources and expertise to sectors beyond mining.
Marcin Idzik of PGZ highlighted PGG as a natural partner in the modernization of the Polish military. PGZ, one of Europe’s largest defense corporations, will benefit from PGG’s extensive facilities, while also offering its own solutions to support PGG’s operations. This collaboration is expected to bolster Poland’s defence capabilities while addressing new global challenges.
