    President Duda Supports Polish Olympians in Paris

    On Saturday morning, President Andrzej Duda visited the Olympic Village in Paris, meeting with the Polish team participating in the XXXIII Summer Olympics. With over two hundred Polish athletes in Paris, the largest group comprises 65 track and field competitors. For the first time in history, women outnumber men in the Polish contingent, with 113 female athletes. The Polish Olympians will compete in a total of 22 sports and 28 disciplines. In the evening, President Duda cheered on the Polish volleyball team, who won their first group stage match against Egypt with a 3-0 victory.

    Historic Meeting and Polish House Opening

    Also on Saturday, the President met with IOC President Thomas Bach and later with athletes and members of the Polish Olympic Family at the Polish House. The opening of the first-ever Polish House in Olympic history took place on Friday, with President Duda attending. That same evening, he watched the opening ceremony of the Olympics on the Seine River.

    This year marks the 100th anniversary of Poland’s first participation in the Olympic Games. To date, Polish athletes have won 298 medals. “We hope to significantly surpass the 300-medal mark during these games, and we wish for as many golds as possible,” President Duda said before departing for the French capital.
