”The main goal of this visit is to deliver a speech before the United Nations (ONZ) General Assembly, that is, before the representatives of all the countries gathered at the UN. At the headquarters in New York, the President will give a programmatic address on the current challenges facing the world, Poland, and our region,” said presidential minister Marcin Przydacz before departing for the United States. He emphasized that the President will meet with world leaders in politics, economy, and business, but his visit across the ocean will begin with a meeting with the Polish community in America.
President Karol Nawrocki and First Lady Marta Nawrocka will pay a several-day visit to the United States. Their trip will begin with a meeting with the Polish community in Doylestown, where they will attend the unveiling ceremony of a plaque commemorating the late Prime Minister Jan Olszewski and a holy mass at the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Częstochowa. On Tuesday, the President will take part in the general debate of the 80th Session of the United Nations (ONZ) General Assembly. In addition, Karol and Marta Nawroccy will attend a welcome reception hosted by U.S. President Donald Trump and his wife Melania.
Just before departing for the United States, presidential minister Marcin Przydacz reminded journalists that President Karol Nawrocki was heading to the U.S. to participate in the 80th Session of the UN General Assembly.
The main goal of this visit is to deliver a speech before the United Nations (ONZ) General Assembly, that is, before the representatives of all the countries gathered at the UN. At the headquarters in New York, the President will give a programmatic address on the current challenges facing the world, Poland, and our region. The President will speak about security challenges linked to Russia’s aggressive posture and its objectives – and that objective is to dismantle and reshape the existing security architecture, moving away from a world based on the principles of international law, toward one based on the law of force, said Marcin Przydacz.
The President will talk about our perspective on the situation in the region, in Europe, but will also touch on global issues, matters of importance that international experts and diplomats are dealing with, looking as well at what is happening on other continents, he stressed.
He added that during this extended visit, the President will also meet with leaders of global politics, economy, and business. Next year, Poland will be present at the G20 summit, so economic relations are also among the President’s priorities. As for political meetings, at the UN headquarters in New York there will be presidents, prime ministers, and speakers of parliaments from all the most important countries, so over the span of several days such meetings in various formats will take place. The President of the United States, Donald Trump, will also be there, and such a meeting will certainly happen in the near future, Przydacz emphasized.
