“We are representatives of a country that fought against the communist regime,” recalled Michał Rachoń, Program Director of TV Republika, who is also participating in the CPAC conference in the United States. “We are today in the state of Texas in the U.S., and this is an important topic here, because NATO was created precisely to fight against communism,” Rachoń emphasized.
He also noted that for Poles, the North Atlantic Alliance represents freedom and democracy. The great vision of Ronald Reagan, former President of the United States, brought freedom to the world. “That is why our message to the free world is this: take care of the true values and the tools we have to safeguard them. NATO is certainly one of those tools when we speak about fundamental values such as freedom. I mean basic freedoms such as freedom of speech and freedom of expression,” he said.
Michał Rachoń also mentioned Adam Borowski, an anti-communist opposition activist, who is today expected to be imprisoned for statements criticizing one of the politicians of Civic Platform (KO), Roman Giertych.
“After two terms of government by Mateusz Morawiecki, the global left is now attacking everyone. We are being attacked economically and politically, and the head of our station is being wiretapped by the Prosecutor General because we organized CPAC in Poland,” said Michał Rachoń.
