We have the first medal of the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Istanbul. Adrianna Sułek reached for silver in the pentathlon after an excellent start.
She achieved a personal best in four events, her total points tallying to 5014 points and setting a new Polish record. The gold medal was won by Nafissatou Thiam, who earned an impressive 5055 points, surpassing the previous highest score in the competition’s history.
Sułek began the day with a 60-meter hurdle run, setting a personal record of 8.21 seconds. She then continued on to the high jump event, leaping 189 cm, and secured her place in second. In the shot-put competition, while she attained a personal best of 13.89m indoors, she ultimately ended up in seventh place.
The fourth competition – the long jump – was another competition for Adrianna Sułek. She jumped as high as 6.62 metres and won the competition.
In the last competition, the 800-meter run she won! From the start, she held onto the lead until she came out on top. With a huge lead, she won the competition!
Unfortunately, despite her fabulous performance, she remained second with an overall score of 5014. At the same time, she set a new Poland record.
