American rapper Snoop Dogg, aged 52, will carry the Olympic torch through the streets of Saint-Denis, a northern suburb of Paris, leading up to the grand opening ceremony of the games at Stade de France.
The world-renowned artist will be the final torchbearer, heralding the arrival of the Olympic flame in Saint-Denis. “World star Snoop Dogg will carry the torch on the last leg of the Olympic flame’s journey,” announced Mathieu Hanotin, the mayor of Saint-Denis.
Joining Snoop Dogg in the relay on Friday will be other celebrities including actress Laetitia Casta and rapper MC Solaar.

Saint-Denis: A Pivotal Location for the Games
The choice of Saint-Denis for the last day of the torch relay, just before the opening ceremony, underscores the town’s significant role in the Olympic landscape, according to local officials quoted by “Le Monde.”
Stade de France in Saint-Denis, which was originally built for the 1998 FIFA World Cup and witnessed France’s victory against Brazil in the finals, is set to host various athletic events and rugby matches during these Olympics.
Snoop Dogg as a Sports Commentator
Earlier this year, Snoop Dogg announced he would be commentating on the Olympic Games for NBC. Known for his involvement in youth sports through his Snoop Youth Football League, the rapper’s engagement with sports extends beyond just his Olympic commentary. The championship game of his league is affectionately known as the “Snooper Bowl.”
Currently in Paris, Snoop Dogg has been actively sharing updates from his trip on social media, including his sprint on an athletic track, promoting NBC’s broadcast of the games.
